Garlic White Sauce

It's so that easy we end up having it way too often.

Garlic White Sauce

1 stick butter

1/2 TBSP garlic powder

1 cup milk

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup cheese - parmesan, mozarella, or any Italian cheese blend is great

pinch of salt/pepper

  1. Melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic powder and cook less than 30 seconds, until very lightly browned.
  2. Add milk and cream and a pinch of salt. Whisk until it starts to bubble.
  3. Add cheese and continue whisking until melted.

Notes:

This will thicken up as it cools, but if it doesn't, the best bet is to add 1 tsp cornstarch to 1 TBSP cool water and mix them into a slurry, then pour into cheese mixture slowly while stirring. I find that if I use plenty of cheese, this isn't an issue.

This is not a low calorie meal. As if you couldn't tell.

This goes great on ravioli, tortellini, or any sort of pasta. It's a quick dinner.
