Instant Pot to Cook Whole Crabs

Dungeoness Crab season finally opened in California after a few years without a season, and we were smart enough to use our Instant Pot to steam them. I WILL NEVER DO IT ANY OTHER WAY AGAIN. It was so easy.

Not pictured: whole crabs. We ate the bodies first. Yum.

Put trivet on bottom of Instant Pot insert.

Add 2ish cups water to bottom of insert.

Place crabs into insert. Mine fit two at a time.

Put on lid, turn vent to sealed position, press STEAM button and set the timer for 3 minutes.

Quick release steam once done.

The whole process takes about 20 minutes to come up to temp and steam, but they're perfectly done, aren't super watery like if you were to boil them, and cleanup is a breeze with the Instant Pot.
